Oncogenic signaling pathways as therapeutic targets in breast cancer

Our laboratory studies oncogene and tumor suppressor induced cancer-specific cellular programs, which cause therapeutic vulnerabilities in breast cancer. Our current research specifically focuses on therapeutic strategies aiming to exploit MYC oncogene-induced vulnerabilities and therapeutically intervenable oncogenic functions of transmembrane serine proteases. We have established variety of three-dimensional culture systems for mammary primary and stem cell-based organoids as well as patient tumor-derived explants for ex vivo target validation and for studies of breast cancer development and translation.
