Virtual PCR
PlasmaDNA allows the user to build a database of primers. All fragments are then analysed for the presence of these annealing sequences.
When two such primers are found in an orientation that would allow the generation of a PCR fragment, it is possible to generate this fragment using the PCR window.
The user chooses a fragment from the cloning project, a sense and an antisense fragment, and the resulting product is generated and shown graphically. If the primers contain extra 5' non-annealing sequences (such as additional restriction sites), those sequences are included in the product appropriately.
The PCR product can then be added to the cloning project for further analyses and manipulations
