RESEARCH PROJECTS
Schematic representation of the Fas apoptosis pathway used in the
mechanistic model in Jurkat T-cell. In normal cells, activation of Fas
receptor leads to activation of Caspase-3 that triggers apoptosis. High
abundance of XIAP (common in many cancers) causes cells to become
insensitive to Fas apoptosis signal. With the mathematical model we can
test, for example, whether Bcl2-inhibition would again kick-start
apoptosis.
