Advanced
Course in Proteomics and Protein Chemistry
Next Course!
Date:
April 20-24, 2015. START at 09.15 on Monday April 20, 2015.
Location: Biomedicum Helsinki,
Haartmaninkatu 8, 00290 Helsinki
2- floor, Room C213 (Please check at the Biomedicum
Security Stuff at the Entrance for further guidance).
The course is tailored for
students who want to learn more about
advanced technologies in modern Proteomics. The students are devided
into groups of three-four people each. Each group conduct their own
task. The
task is to identify and characterize a set of proteins by various
Proteomic means. In addition, each group will select two topics from a
given list and give on those a short seminar in the beginning of each
day. The course will also include a short introduction to various
bioinformatic tools used in modern Proteomics. As techniques we will
use MS and MSMS, 1-and 2-DE, various Micro-chips for protein analyses,
Micro-rotophor for pre purification, micro- and nano-LC's etc. Every
day we will
go through results from the previous day and talk about the plans for
the next day. The course is based on BBL which demands from the
students a bit of own activity. Officially we work from 09.15 to 16.00
but usually some students like to stay longer and that is fine with us.
Since you are working in a team it is very easy to agree with the group
members about the daily schedule. Days might get long so please try not
to
make any other appointments during these days. We will allow one half
day off if urgent. Welcome!!
