The Proteinchemistry/Proteomics Unit provides several state-of-the-art Courses and Seminars. Some of these Courses are based on interactive lectures and on-site  demonstrations and some on Hands-on-type practical bench working.

COURSES 2014

Advanced Cource in Clinical and Basic Proteomics (2014)

        Date:            May, 2014.                                            

        Location:     Biomedicum Helsinki, Haartmaninkatu 8, 00290 Helsinki
                             Second floor (Please check at the Biomedicum Security                              Stuff at the Entrance for further guidance).

Advanced Course in Clinical and Basic Proteomics 2014 is a hands-on 8 hour/day course which is conducted in the Clinical Proteomics Unit premises in Biomedicum Helsinki, Finland in May, 2014. During this course students will untangle the mysteries of carefully selected proteins and protein complexes with the help of modern protein chemical technologies (1- and 2D gel electrophoresis, micro- and nano-LC, LC-MS, MSMS, MALDI-TOF, HR Q-TOF-IMS, AA-sequencing etc.). Number of students selected to the course will be limited. Registration is now open!

TransMed Course in Basic and Clinical Proteomics and Metabolomics (2014)

This is a 8 day lecture and hands-on course for the students registered in the Translational Medicine Masters Program 2014 at the Medical Faculty and all other graduate students who want to deepen their basic knowledge in Proteomics and Metabolomics. For the TransMed students this is obligatory. This Course includes two blocks of which the first is together with the Basic Protein Chemistry and Proteomics 2014 Course (see under).

Introduction to Basic Protein Chemistry and Proteomics with Clinical Applications and amazing Magic Tricks (2014)      


         Date:            October, 2014.
                            
 
       Location:   Biomedicum Helsinki, Haartmaninkatu 8, 00290 Helsinki
                            Ground floor, Seminar Room 3 (Please check at the                                         Biomedicum Security Stuff at the Entrance for further                                      guidance).

This Course includes a serie of interactive lectures and demonstrations ending with a Special Hands-on part on Databases and Analytical Tools in Proteomics. The Course will also include an astonishing set of Magic Tricks to entertain the sleepy students in the audience. The lectures are usually held daily 09.15 - 12.00 during one week and are open for all students and scientists interested. Some lectures will though be also in the afternoon this year. Students who need credits have to register to these Courses in advance.

MALDI Imaging Course for Protein and Lipid Imaging on Tissue (2014)

Is a three days hands-on laboratory Course. The students will learn how to prepare tissue samples for MALDI Imaging (IMS) and further how to analyze such samples by two different MALDI MS instruments (Low resolution and High resolution; Ion Mobility and ETD fragmentation). Next Course will be arranged possibly in November 2014.

  All e-Exams will be in the Moodle environment. When you try to enter our site the first time it will request a self enrolment. No key is needed.


After you have enrolled you can log in to the site with your University identification. In the Moodle you will find a test-exam which you can use for testing how the real exam will look like. You may also do the test-exam several times for your convenience. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions for the exam.
